Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a killer

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) kills over 350,000 people every year in the U.S. alone according to the American Heart Association, that’s over 1,000 people every day. In 2015, 366,807 of US deaths were caused by Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). The American Heart Association calls sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) one of the most lethal public health problems in our country.

Survival rate without an AED is 2-5%

95% of sudden cardiac arrest victims die

1 in 7.4 deaths is from sudden cardiac arrest

Chance of survival decrease 10% for every minute that passes without treatment

SCA survival rates are highest when defibrillation with an AED occurs within 3 minutes of collapsing

The treatment for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is defibrillation with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

With an AED on-board, lifesaving help is always within reach. In remote locations, such as on a boat or charter vessel, an ambulance is not on its way to assist, nor is there a hospital nearby. AED’s are the only treatment available for passengers or crew members that are victims of sudden cardiac arrest where every minute can be the difference between life and death.

At Ocean Medic we chose the Defibtech Lifeline VIEW AED. Specifically engineered for the marine environment and the only AED with video instructions on how to use the AED and perform lifesaving CPR, in addition we provide a AED maintenance program
